Privacy Policy

The short version

ToolDesk is built so that we know as little about you as possible. Every tool on this site runs entirely inside your web browser: the images, PDFs and text you work with are processed on your own device and are never uploaded to our servers. We have no user accounts, we set no cookies of our own, and we do not run analytics scripts.

Your files

When you compress an image, merge a PDF, format JSON or use any other ToolDesk tool, the processing happens locally using your browser's built-in capabilities (such as the Canvas API and JavaScript running on your machine). Your files are never transmitted to, stored on, or seen by our servers or any third party. Closing the page removes everything from memory.

What we do collect

Like almost every website, our web server automatically records standard access logs when you load a page. These logs contain your IP address, browser type (user agent), the page requested, and a timestamp. We use them only to keep the site running securely (for example, to block abusive traffic) and we do not use them to identify or profile visitors. Logs are rotated and deleted automatically.

Third-party services

A few page assets are loaded from third-party servers. When your browser fetches them, those providers technically receive your IP address as part of the normal request:

We do not share any data with these providers beyond what your browser sends automatically when requesting a file.

Cookies

ToolDesk does not set any cookies today. If advertising is introduced (see below), advertising partners may set cookies, and where required by law you will be asked for consent first.

Advertising

To keep ToolDesk free, we may display advertising in the future, provided by Google AdSense. If and when ads are enabled: Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites; visitors in regions that require it (such as the EU and UK) will see a consent banner before any advertising cookies are set; and you can learn how Google uses data from partner sites at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. This policy will be updated when ads go live.

Your rights

Because we don't collect personal data beyond short-lived server logs, there is usually nothing for us to look up, correct or delete. If you believe we hold information about you, or you have any privacy question, contact us and we will help: contact@tooldesk.cc.

Children's privacy

ToolDesk is a general-audience website. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy — for example when advertising is introduced — we will update this page and the "last updated" date above.
