About these pdf tools

PDFs often contain contracts, invoices, medical records and other documents you shouldn’t hand to a random server. Every PDF tool here processes your file entirely on your own device using open-source libraries (pdf.js and pdf-lib) — the document never leaves your browser.

You can compress a PDF to meet upload size limits, merge several PDFs into one, reorder, rotate, delete or extract pages, add text on top of any page (including whiting out and retyping), sign documents with a drawn or typed signature, and generate invoices as PDFs. All free, no account, no watermarks, no per-day limits.

Frequently asked questions

Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?

No. The files are opened and edited with JavaScript libraries running in your browser. Nothing is transmitted — you can even load the page, go offline, and keep working.

Can I edit the existing text inside a PDF?

True in-place text editing isn’t possible client-side, but the Add Text tool gets very close: you can white-out any existing text and type replacement text over it, then download a clean flattened PDF.

Is there a file size or page limit?

There’s no artificial limit. Very large files are only constrained by your device’s memory — hundreds of pages are usually no problem on a normal laptop or phone.

Why is the compressed PDF’s text not selectable?

The compressor re-renders pages as optimized images to achieve its size savings, which flattens the text layer. If you need selectable text, use the page-editing tools instead of compression.
