Lorem Ipsum Generator
Placeholder text by the paragraph, sentence or word — regenerate until it fits, copy with one click.
About this tool
Every mockup needs words before the real words exist. Lorem ipsum — scrambled pseudo-Latin in use since the 1500s — fills layouts with text that has the rhythm of real language without the distraction of meaning. Pick how much you need in paragraphs, sentences or words, regenerate until the shape fits your design, and copy.
Frequently asked questions
What is lorem ipsum?
Scrambled pseudo-Latin derived from a passage of Cicero, used since the 1500s as placeholder text. Designers use it so layouts can be judged without readable words stealing attention.
Why not just type random text?
Lorem ipsum has a natural-looking distribution of word lengths and sentence rhythms, so a mockup filled with it looks like real typeset language — "asdf asdf asdf" doesn't.
Does it always start with "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet"?
By convention the first paragraph starts with the classic opening — there's a toggle if you'd rather have fully shuffled text.
