EXIF Remover
Strip GPS location, camera details and timestamps from photos before you share them — in bulk, on your device.
About this tool
Every photo your phone takes quietly records where you were (GPS coordinates), what device you used, and exactly when — and that metadata travels with the file when you share it. This tool strips all metadata (EXIF, GPS, IPTC, XMP) by redrawing the pixels onto a clean canvas and re-encoding the image, so what you share is the picture and nothing else.
Drop in a whole batch at once; each photo is cleaned locally and often comes out smaller, since the metadata baggage is gone. PNG stays lossless; JPG and WebP are re-encoded at 95% quality — visually identical for photos.
How to remove EXIF data
- Drop one or many photos onto the box.
- Each is cleaned instantly on your device.
- Download them individually or all at once.
Frequently asked questions
What is EXIF data and why remove it?
EXIF is metadata cameras and phones embed in photos: GPS coordinates of where the shot was taken, device model, timestamps, sometimes even the owner's name. Sharing a photo can share all of that too — stripping it protects your location and privacy.
How does this tool remove the metadata?
It redraws the image pixels onto a clean canvas and re-encodes the file, which discards every metadata block — EXIF, GPS, IPTC and XMP. Only the picture itself survives.
Does removing EXIF change image quality?
PNG output is lossless. JPG and WebP are re-encoded at very high quality (95%), which is visually identical for photos; the file often gets smaller because the metadata is gone.
Are my photos uploaded?
No — everything happens in your browser. That's the point: a privacy tool shouldn't require handing your photos to a server.
