About this tool

A favicon is the small icon browsers show in the tab, the bookmarks bar and search results — and shipping a complete, correct set is fiddlier than it should be. This generator produces everything at once: favicon.ico (with 16, 32 and 48 px versions inside), PNGs at 16, 32, 180, 192 and 512 px — covering browser tabs, iOS home screens (apple-touch-icon) and Android / web-app manifests — plus the HTML snippet to paste into your <head>.

Start from an uploaded logo (it's center-cropped to a square), or design one on the spot from a letter or an emoji on a colored background. Everything is rendered on a canvas in your browser — nothing is uploaded, and there's no watermark or account.

How to create a favicon

  1. Upload a square-ish logo — or switch to From letter / emoji and style one.
  2. Check the live previews at real tab sizes (16 and 32 px).
  3. Click Download all files — you get favicon.ico plus all PNG sizes.
  4. Put the files on your site and paste the generated snippet into your pages' <head>.

Frequently asked questions

Which favicon sizes do I actually need?

The practical set is favicon.ico (16/32/48 for browser tabs and bookmarks), apple-touch-icon.png at 180 px for iOS home screens, and 192 px + 512 px PNGs for Android and web app manifests. This tool generates all of them at once.

Is my logo uploaded to a server?

No. Icons are drawn on a canvas in your browser and downloaded straight from memory — the image never leaves your device.

What makes a good favicon?

Simple and bold: one shape, one or two colors, no fine text. It has to read at 16×16 pixels — if your full logo doesn't shrink well, use just its symbol, a single letter, or an emoji on a solid background.

Where do I put the files on my website?

Upload them to your site's root folder (or any path) and paste the generated HTML snippet into the <head> of your pages, adjusting the paths if needed. Browsers also find /favicon.ico at the root automatically.

Does the .ico file work in all browsers?

Yes — the generated favicon.ico contains 16, 32 and 48 px versions and is understood by every modern browser, plus the PNG links cover high-DPI displays and mobile home screens.
